Thoughts to engage the gear in your brain

As a little child, girls would fancy themselves a handsome, armour-clad, white-horse-riding, one heck of a prince kinda gentlemen as their one true love. This dream of ours will most definitely disintegrate into millions of tiny glass fragments never to be remolded into their pristine state. In a much less destroying situation, it'll just be embedded into the hidden depths of our subconscious mind, occasionally filtered out as daydreams and make-belief.

Finding that handsome, intelligent, wealthy, romantic and strong partner (as a Prince, duh) is probably as hard (more likely harder) as digging for a needle in a haystack, ok, make it 10 haystacks. With the standards of beauty escalating through the roof in current times, the past "handsome" might be re-labelled as "average". So how could one find that perfect 100% beauty? High nosebridge? Humongous eyes? Double eyelids? Besides as the saying beauty lies the eyes of the beholder, the definition of beauty would definitely differ for reach individual. I'm straying from my original topic of "finding Princes".

Undoubtedly, appearances do matter, and first impressions count. I cannot dissent that an unkempt and messy person would be as desirable as a well-put, elegant counterpart. But if one takes outer appearance as the criteria for searching for their lifelong partner, I cannot emphasize how shallow this person is. Besides, taking care of one's outlook reflects their personality, somewhat. Beauty will fade with time (or with the makeup cleanser), and with other more compelling issues to tackle, like life expenses, family building, being Miss Universe or Miss Solar System will not make a difference.

As cliche as this may seem, its what's inside that counts. Chew on this: beauty might reel you in, but the personality is probably what hooks you on. Exchanging continuous banter, communicating well and thoroughly connecting is what is going to help 2 people live together throughout their lives. Not just staring at how pretty/handsome the partner is & keeping silent for the next 24h, 70ys of their lives.

Of course many might oppose this and this is just a written opinion but it's definitely something worth thinking about while searching for that perfect someone

Thoughts right before bed

I opened this page up thinking that I'd have chunk of insight to share but actually.. I haven't any.

Set in the repetitive & cyclic nature of the past few days ricocheted myself into some blank space. Feels like i have done less, thought less these few days. There isn't anything much to be done that requires lots of thinking anyway. Moving furniture back to its original position. Unpacking stuff, all I need to think of is where to put each item.
Not that I'm complaining since I get a cleaner and beautified room but hey, it's a funny change from the daily hair-pulling, dictionary-raping, mental vocabulary-stripping days just a month ago. I think I shall not say more as in approximately a month's time, we'd be whipped back into that regime.

So far so good is an apt description.
Enjoying myself pretty darn much meeting up w friends, decorating th house, catching more movies. There's nothing better to wish for.

On hindsight, be careful what you wish for. This saying exhibited its powers early this week. I said I wished I had a faster moving docking system for th iPhone and mine jammed almost immediately. How irritatingly coincidental :-/

Away for the while

I haven't been here in a while, the last being approximately a month or 2 back.

Examinations are over and done with, results being released. All that's left to prepare myself in fighting the 2nd year of the academic war is the allocation and registration of courses. Rumours or half-truths (Slowly morphing into complete truths by the day) are flitting around regarding new course details.. I can't say for sure that I'd be happy about those changes but we've to accept what comes our way right?

It's been a while I've penned down my thoughts (Maybe because my mind's literally a blank sheet last month - All because of the deadly examinations) - Thus I'm getting rusty and having short memory spans nowadays.

I couldn't tangibly feel the last semester pass by me, it felt kind of surreal that a whole year of University has past. I still recall the days I guardedly jab the keys of the keyboard, writing my wishes and hopes for my University application and school-life. Emancipating English words encompassing deep thoughts into this virtual realm - something I can't really do that well. Digressing, I am often envious or rather, I'd idolise all who could easily form beautiful sentences, as lyrical as a song. (Contemplating the linguistic nature of English :) ) I just hope that the following years would be as smooth sailing as the first. :)

That aside, I'm enjoying my time preparing for minor (Feeling kind of sore, scratch that, i'd consider them major) beautification of the home, meeting up with close friends. A one day trip into Malaysia is on our plan currently, the plan's taking shape now and I sincerely hope our deal falls through :) & Coincidentally meeting friends on the public transport is seriously amazing, albeit myself being taken aback when I saw Zhengxiang standing like in front of me. Never expected we could meet like that without making plans ;)

Ahh As the paragraphs of words starting to grow, the sluggish state of my brain trying to call out words is being re-energised..
Another 2 months (?) of freedom to go, let's make it as fruitful as can be :)

Keep the hopes up and the flames burning

When you feel one door seems to close up on you, another will open somewhere and somehow. It's your drive and determination that brings you to that door. For that door will open for your future successes.

Don't think there's no use in things, for there will always be hope.
Pick yourself up when you fall, for there's always a longer road to run.
Don't worry if it takes a more arduous journey, for the chances to slow down and smell the flowers.
Remember your closest and truest friends, for they will be the ones being the water and music during your run.

It's these events that we have to go through that strengthens a person, it exercises us mentally, rendering us more proficient in dealing with the other rollercoaster rides we are to take.........................

So never give up, I'm here for you.
Keep the hopes up, and keep the flame burning.

It's been a while

It's really been a while since I've typed up my thoughts, & since writing has always that therapeutic notion to it...

People have been saying my way of speech has changed. Maybe its influence from school, maybe its a phase of growing up. But honestly I feel I need to grow up. Faced with people who brought different experiences I encountered, different feelings I have towards them I think I need some maturation in my thinking.

On another note, things are picking up, I'm meeting more people in school which ultimately is a great thing :-) Lessons are a 3 day week for now, which I definitely am grateful for. Groupmates are a great bunch, thank you very much for that too :-) Hope days would turn out as fun as ever, since its always been claimed by many, that Uni days are the most fun :-) I'm keeping my hopes up for that!

But I'm missing many other people. Things will work out with everyone's initiative to keep the friendship going and I'm undoubtedly keeping my faith in this area!

Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and a richness to life that nothing else can bring.
